holy wet bar
| S.R. Gambrel |
However,.....this doesn't hold me back from appreciating a beautifully put together bar cart, or in this case wet bar.
Nice work Mr. Gambrel.
What about you guys? Who has a bar cart or fully stocked bar area?
What's your favorite cocktail to make?
My favorite is a vodka tonic with 2 limes, please. ;)

NYFW 101
NYFW starts today. Once again, I wish I was there.....at Lincoln Center taking it all in. And once again I tell myself that one day I'll get there to experience it myself.
In the meantime, The Man Repeller herself, Leandra Medine created the video that will help all newbies get ready for fashion week.
If it doesn't make you giggle, then I don't know what's wrong with you. ;)
enjoy!

tidbits....
image 1 - Solange Knowles....she's so cool....and Madewell has some great pieces for fall
image 2 - Breyer's Natural Vanilla with bits of homemade chocolate chip bar.....you feel yourself getting heavier with every delicious bite
image 3 - New addition to our living room.....
image 4 - Domino does it again...this time with a compilation of their favorite rooms from all of their issues. Serves as a great source of inspiration, if you're in need of some!
I had a nice, lowkey long weekend.
Oh, and how could I forget......I stumbled across episodes of The Hills on MTV....so, of course I had to watch them (and dvr them)....two full seasons (the last two with Lauren Conrad) worth. I enjoyed every minute of that ridiculousness.

girl / house crush
Lake Bell. You might not recognize the name right off the bat, but you know her the minute you see her. She's been in a slew of movies (No Strings Attached, What Happens in Vegas, It's Complicated) and tv shows (How to Make it in America, The Practice, New Girl).
She is quirky and stunning...but in an approachable way (and you know me...I'm all about the stunning, yet approachable thing ;)).
She splits her time between LA and Brooklyn, and this week her LA home is featured on Vogue.com
Check it out.....

advice to a 10 year old
As I mentioned yesterday, Ryan started 5th grade this week. The big kid on campus.....or as my friend Mal has said 'she's now in her senior year....of elementary school'. ;)
Ryan and I were chatting the other day and we got to talking about kids in her grade...who she was friends with, etc. She mentioned that one of these kids was 'popular'......and that she wished she was more popular. This did two things to me..1). broke my heart a little bit + 2). made me remember that I had that very same feeling when I was growing up. I mean who doesn't want to be the cool kid, right?
My advice to her was what I finally learned over the past 41 years............just be yourself...the best possible version, and people will gravitate toward you.
I think even as adults we want people to like us, to think we're cool....and sadly, sometimes we get too wrapped up in that and we lose a little bit of ourselves.
I think Ms. Garland had it right...................
